We are the most central guest House in Edinburgh and our accommodation is located in a Georgian Edinburgh townhouse. This is the house where Kenneth Grahame (1859-1932), author of “The Wind in the Willows”, was born!
Castle View Guest House Edinburgh is a family owned and run business. Our policy has always been that we always give our guests the welcome, standard of service, amenities and hearty breakfast that we would like ourselves whether we are on holiday on a business trip.
Castle View is a 3 star Guest House Edinburgh (VisitScotland Quality Assurance scheme) and is in the Good Hotel Guide. We enjoy many recommendations in tourist guides and make every effort to ensure our guests have an enjoyable stay here at Castle View and in Edinburgh.
Check-in time at Castle View Guest House Edinburgh is between 13:00 and 23:00 (any later by prior arrangement) luggage may be left here anytime from 8:00 am in the morning until 12:00pm or at the manager’s discretion.
For Guests checking-out, please note that the Castle View Guest House is not responsible for luggage left after 5:00 pm.
Please note smoking in public places in Scotland is illegal. No smoking is allowed in the Guest House. Any Guest who breaches the smoking ban will be fined £100. Please note any damage caused to the property and its contents by a guest, will render the guest liable for damages incurred.

We have recently completely refurbished the guest house and opened a whole new floor. We now offer rooms with a unique blend of traditional and modern styling in our Edinburgh Bed and Breakfast establishment. Please note that due to the age of the building and the historical/listed status, we do not have an elevator. Therefore you will have to climb a number of steps to get to the top floors. We offer a hearty start to your day at CastleView Guesthouse – full Scottish breakfast with vegetarian, low fat and continental options available. All ingredients are fresh and sourced locally. We use the world renowned Crombies butchers, of Edinburgh, to get the highest quality meats, excelling particularly in sausages and haggis.
