Open Arms Hotel , Dirleton – 4 Star
After a long day on the golf course or a walk on the sea shore you can return to the relaxing atmosphere of our comfortable lounges with, in Winter, real log fires. In Summer you may choose to sit in the courtyard and listen to the birds. Whatever your choice, you may thoroughly enjoy an afternoon tea or drink whilst sitting back with a newspaper or book and allowing the strains of everyday life to ooze away.
There are many places of interest in the area from some fascinating little shops to the Seabird Centre, the Museum of Flight, Dirleton Castle (of course!), Tantallon Castle and Edinburgh, which is only a thirty minute journey by a good train service or by car. The many golf courses offer play for most standards and there are delightful walks along the sea shores in Gullane, Yellowcraigs and North Berwick.
Most of our twelve bedrooms are front-facing overlooking the Castle. We do, however, have four garden rooms, which are popular with those less fond of stairs and four-legged visitors, who are always welcome when well-behaved. All rooms have free wi-fi access. Our chefs take great pleasure in offering delicious dishes prepared with the best of local ingredients where possible and the busy restaurants are a testament of their skill. You may choose from the bright informality of Deveau’s Brasserie with its good choice of menu or the Library with its more sophisticated dishes. After dinner take time to relax with a liqueur or coffee in one of the many comfortable chairs or sofas in the lounges and think of nothing but a cosy bed and an excellent breakfast.
We shall do our utmost to provide you with a relaxing visit so that, on departure, you leave much refreshed. We hope we may have the pleasure of welcoming you to our family owned hotel.
