Mid-Ocean Club
The Mid Ocean Club was established as a private members Club in 1951. Situated in picturesque Tucker's Town in Bermuda it offers unrivalled facilities to a strong international community of members and their guests. A true home away from home, members from the fours corners of the world are drawn back to its peaceful rolling greens, private beaches, and the warm embrace of the Clubhouse.
The Clubhouse overlooking the 18th fairway houses a main dining room, bar, two private function rooms, men's and ladies locker rooms and a Golf shop. There are twenty newly renovated cottages adjacent to the Clubhouse. Each has a private balcony with breathtaking views of Tucker's Town Cove and tasteful, spacious interiors. The Clubhouse is a relaxed and welcoming setting where members meet after idyllic days on the greens to share global golfing tales over a delicious meal and superior vintage.
The Beach Pavilion, set on beautiful South Shore, with direct beach access, offers members and their guests a swimming pool, outdoor terraces and restaurant providing a high standard of service and cuisine. The Club also has two tennis courts with lessons available upon request. The ever-dedicated staff at Mid Ocean Club also arrange fishing and scuba diving expeditions, upon request.
Mid Ocean has its place in history having been the venue for significant summit meetings between the world's most powerful leaders; in 1953 the United States President Eisenhower met with British Prime Minister Winston Churchill and four years later he returned to meet with Prime Minister Harold MacMillan.
The golf course which was built in 1921 is rated as one of the world's greatest courses and is testament to the genius of its world renowned architect, Charles Blair Macdonald. Mid Ocean is proud to have been chosen as the host of several major golf events, most notably the 2007 and 2008 PGA Grand Slams of Golf. From scratch through to relative beginners Mid Ocean members enjoy both casual and competitive golf.
The Club remains loyal to its noble beginnings and the dedication to excellence and the unwavering devotion of its members' and staff remains as true today as the day the Club was founded.
